Human Creativity is Imitation of Our Creator
|
| |
| Christians believe that God created the Universe. The book of
Genesis describes a creation event where everything was created
by God out of nothing, the ultimate prototype for all creative acts.
Each human imitation of this prototype, whether an expressions of
love, an artistic reflection of some aspect of life, or an expression
of some mysterious possibility not yet realized, is an imitation
of the original creative act. With all life came all forms of media
- light, sound, matter, and electricity - repeatable physical patterns
which scientists have been working to understand. Intelligence was
built into us, along with the appreciation of beauty, drama, comedy,
and even ugliness and tragedy. We can use our God-given gifts and
the materials God has left for our use to bring out through our
work truth and aesthetic beauty and inspire love, purpose, and passion
in others. |
| |
We intend to promote excellence in several ways.
|
| |
|
|
|
We provide a way for people of similar views to collaborate
and mutually encourage one another through several services,
many of which are free of charge. |
|
|
|
We publish informative content relating to the passion,
creativity, understanding and skill required to successfully
create in the mass communications arena. |
|
|
|
We publish various resources and links to resources, by
permission, to facilitate personal growth in your target areas
of expertise. |
|
|
|
We act as a central storehouse for creative, technical,
marketing, and organization resource that creative people
can use. |

Where did the name Whirlwind come from?
|
| |
|
The the word whirlwind appears in the Bible fourteen times (2KI
2:1, 2KI 2:11, JOB 38:1, PSA 58:9, PSA 77:18, PRO 1:27, PRO 10:25,
ISA 5:28, ISA 29:6, ISA 66:15, JER 4:13, HOS 8:7, NAH 1:3, HEB
12:18), but only one of these was the inspiration behind the naming
of Whirlwind Magazine. It is after Job speaks his mind about the
awesome power of God that God responds to Job, "out of the
whirlwind," saying that essentially Job has nothing to contribute
to God's wisdom. After a long segment where God reminded Job that
he was not present when God constructed the Universe, Job entered
a deep humility and turned from his intellectual pride.
|
| |
| The choice of name should not be considered as implying that human
beings have nothing to say, but merely that we have nothing to teach
God. Consider the probability that God through us has much to teach
human beings. May our creative endeavors be God's whirlwind. |
